The Natomas Arts and Education Foundation (NAEF) is a nonprofit organization whose primary focus is to offer dynamic arts programming in the Benvenuti Performing Arts Center that will inspire, challenge and empower students, artists and audiences. NAEF seeks proposals from individual artists and arts organizations who share in the goals and mission of Ben Arts to:

  • Enrich our community's appreciation of diversity by inviting multi-cultural performances and ensembles.
  • Embrace and challenge the standard repertoire by utilizing new performance techniques, new technologies and non-traditional casting.
  • Utilize the arts to nurture a more conscious community by presenting themes that explore and promote insight and understanding of the human condition across all ethnicities and cultures.
  • Enhance the learning experiences of student artists at Natomas Charter School and in the Sacramento area through the creation of a series of residencies, workshops and special performances by professionals in the field.

BEN ARTS PROPOSALS: OVERVIEW

Proposals for programming in the Benvenuti can include but are not limited to theater, music, lectures, dance, film and art instillations. NAEF seeks artists and promoters who are able to partner with us in the production and promotion of an event and who have an interest in collaborating with the professional artists teaching in our Performing and Fine Arts Academy to offer residencies, workshops and performances for our students. Proposals for our professional series will be approved twice a year for the upcoming season.

All proposals will be reviewed by the NAEF Artistic Advisory Board which is made up of professional artists from the community representing a wide range of artistic disciplines. Final programming decisions are made by the NAEF Board. As the schedule permits, NAEF will schedule private rentals of the facility for nonprofits, corporations and individuals who pay full price to rent the Benvenuti for events such as recitals, conferences, receptions and graduations.
